Feeding the ducks

Nardy House staff and participants enjoyed a picnic at Kisses Lagoon, Bega. The highlight of the day was feeding the ducks, which turned out to be quite a competition amongst the ducks and pelicans. Ila Smith White watching the commotion from a safe distance.      

John’s Birthday Nardy House

Monday 29th May, John Dahlen enjoyed his birthday by going for a trike ride around the coast. 6 fellow bike riders accompanied John and when the ride was complete, he enjoyed lunch at Bermagui hotel with staff, participants, and friends. Wheelchair friendly

Last week a footpath was completed to give Nardy House participants access to our wheelchair friendly swing. This area will also be used for a picnic and viewing area once completed.

Fountain at Nardy House

Ila Smith White enjoying the fountain at Nardy House. Ila keeps an eye on the fountain water level and when the fountain is getting low, she refills the fountain. The water feature is a popular place for our participants at Nardy House who often eat their meals or have outside activities near the fountain.

Do it for Dolly Day

Staff at Nardy House held a “Do It For Dolly Day” to help continue the campaign to spread kindness and break the silence around bullying. A day out at Eden Lighthouse

Nardy Resident John Dahlen visited the whale museum in Eden. John’s great uncle, Gustaf Dalen, designed the sun valve, which automatically turned on the beacon lights using daylight and darkness. Pictured below is John, alongside the beacon light that Gustaf’s sun valve was used.  

Nardy House’s new plant nursery

Maintenance guru’s Dave Cooper and Arron Steiner have built a plant nursery at Nardy House to season new plants for eventual transfer to the ongoing landscaping at Nardy House. The first lot of plants are now being transferred from the nursery to the patio, making the area look fantastic.    

Live Music Entertainment at Nardy House

Nardy House clients enjoyed two hours of fun entertainment with singer/writer Dave Cooper. Pictured below is Ila playing along with an assortment of  musical  instruments with staff member Anthony enjoying her talent.
